November is Family Caregivers Month

National Family Caregivers Month takes place every November, providing an opportunity to recognize and honor family caregivers throughout the nation.

The Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) would like to celebrate those who have served as caregivers, those currently providing care, and those who will take on this vital role in the future. We acknowledge the dedication, commitment, and heartfelt devotion these individuals demonstrate while caring for their loved ones and neighbors.

Celebrating our local family caregivers during National Family Caregivers Month allows us to:

  • Raise awareness about the challenges faced by family caregivers
  • Honor the dedication and efforts of family caregivers
  • Educating family caregivers on the importance of self-identification
  • Enhancing support for family caregivers

Caregiving can be one of the most challenging jobs, often involving around-the-clock care, little rest, high levels of stress, emotional situations, and typically inadequate compensation. National Caregiver Month aims to raise awareness of these challenges and enhance the overall well-being of caregivers.
