Childhood & Adult Immunizations

Child and adult immunizations are offered at our clinic for reduced prices. We are authorized to bill most insurances, so please check to see if your insurance is accepted. We also accept private payment in the form of cash, check or credit/debit card.

Vaccines for Children is a program that provides free immunizations to eligible children, 18 years old and younger. Eligibility is defined as those who have Medicaid, are uninsured, underinsured (health insurance does not provide coverage for childhood immunizations), and/or American Indian or Alaska Natives. While there is no charge for the vaccine, we gladly accept donations.

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department offers scheduled outlying clinics in Hayes, Hitchcock, Keith and Frontier counties, as well as daily at the health department. Please call to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are always welcome.

*COVID-19 vaccines are now included in the list of routinely recommended immunizations for children and adolescents from the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The update has no effect on any vaccination requirements at the federal, state, or local level. The CDC does not have the authority to set any vaccination requirements, only to make recommendations. The agency maintains a schedule of recommended immunizations for infants, children, and adults. Each state sets its own vaccine requirements and schedules, which is why the vaccinations required to enroll in public schools vary from state to state.
Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department encourages parents to consider adding these safe and effective vaccines to their kids’ shots to protect against severe illness from COVID-19, which can happen to people of any age.
